When I am not pursuing my acting, filmmaking/editing dreams or running my non-profit (bio), I'm just a girl who wants to get out and explore this amazing city.  Living on a tiny budget is my reality, but I never let that hold me back from having fun!  I am always looking for things to do that don't break the bank or offer a new perspective of LA.  Join me and discover LA on the cheap.

Why I Love It

It's a hidden gem in LA’s eccentric city, the canals are incredibly peaceful and unique in their nature. The homes are gorgeous and will definitely make you jealous. I wish I lived here!  BONUS: If you visit during the winter holidays, the neighborhood decorates the bridges with gorgeous light displays!

This little spot known as Venice of America was once the brain-child of Abbot Kinney, through time the area was reduced to the little gem it is today. If you want the deep history, here is a link to an article you can read.

TIP

Go for a stroll, but don't bring your bike, roller skates or a skateboard (they are not allowed). It is a quiet zone, seriously what traffic?  You can grab a book called the Secret Stairs of LA and it will give you a pretty nice self-guided tour and history of the area (and other fun stair hikes in LA).
