Why I Love It
It’s free, it’s beautiful and a pretty good workout! Pt. Vicente is located along the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It's a beautiful lighthouse and one of my favorites. It is a great place to whale watch and picnic, too. Depending on which way you walk along the trail, you can head over to Terranea Resort. The free part isn't staying at the resort, but it is beautiful and there are tons of free walking and hiking paths along and through the resort. It feels like a vacation, seriously! One of my favorite walks takes you down to their man-made beach. Often you can see the sea lions, watch swimmers come in from Catalina or catch a dolphin or two passing by.
TIP
If you are on a tight budget like me, treat yourself to a delicious gelato at their Sea Bean cafe and enjoy it on the beach or one of the many sitting spots along the coastal trails. If you have time and cash, Nelson’s is a great place to grab a bite along the cliff while listening to a band.
