When I am not pursuing my acting, filmmaking/editing dreams or running my non-profit (bio), I'm just a girl who wants to get out and explore this amazing city.  Living on a tiny budget is my reality, but I never let that hold me back from having fun!  I am always looking for things to do that don't break the bank or offer a new perspective of LA.  Join me and discover LA on the cheap.

Angel’s Flight

June 24, 2018

Why I Love It

A signature of Los Angeles, Angel’s Flight is one of my favorite tokens of LA history. The Flight was built in 1901 to take passengers up and down Bunker Hill. It is the shortest funicular railways in the world, but definitely the cutest.

Fun Fact: Angel’s Flight was recently featured on Season 4 of Amazon Prime’s “Bosch”!

What's Nearby

Directly across the street is the famous Grand Central market, a few blocks walk is the Last Bookstore, the Biltmore Hotel, the Bradbury Building and more. The park near the Flight is where a scene from 500 days of Summer was shot. The one's listed here are all FREE, unless you buy something of course!

TIP

Before the new renovation of Angel's Flight, it was $.50 to ride one-way, now it's $1.00 (but if you are a metro pass holder, you get a .50 discount). In the summer, there are often FREE night concerts at the plaza right out from the Flight. Plan an evening, enjoy Grand Central market and the things in the area then take Angel's Flight up to the concert!
