Why I Love It
One of my favorite places in DTLA, the bookstore is a site for all. The bottom floor has a myriad of books to purchase for all ages and sells records in the back. Upstairs is a mix of the “Labyrinth” (which was described as a “portal into an alternate universe” by the LA Times) and art shops. Upstairs is where you will find the famous book-tunnel, eclectic art sculptures and more.

What is nearby:
Make it a day in DTLA. A few blocks walk, you can hit up Grand Central Market, The Bradbury Building, Angel's Flight, the Biltmore Hotel, Central Library, and more.

Tip
Expect your big bags and backpacks (even the purse kind) to be checked before heading into the store. Visit it on a First Thursday and check out all the local artists along the street and food trucks. Last, have some old books bring them in and donate or exchange for book credit.
