Why I Love it
The park is huge! Just like any park, Lake Balboa is perfect for walking your dog, taking a run, yoga, a picnic, etc. The lake is so big that people can spread out around the lake and not feel like it’s crowded. What makes this park special for the San Fernando Valley is that it holds over 2,000 Cherry Blossom trees! The trees usually bloom in the spring.
What to Do
There are bike and paddle boat rentals! (The boats are really fun, but can get a little pricey as they charge per person, not boat). Check their website for events: https://www.laparks.org/aquatic/balboa
TIP
There's tons of free parking but it can fill up fast! Get there early to grab your spot.
